This program is designed to prepare men and women for entry into occupations that require employees to have training and skills as a Paramedic. Not only have physicians become more reliant in paramedics, but their services are also being requested by hospitals, clinic, nursing homes, medical supply businesses, home health agencies, insurance companies, fire departments, and ambulance companies. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the institutions campus to receive a tour and to discuss personal educational and occupational plans with school personnel prior to enrolling or signing enrollment agreements. Theory and laboratory are taught residentially.
Program Objective
The objective of the paramedic program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable the graduates to qualify for positions as a paramedic. Our students will be trained in paramedic procedures. This training will allow our students the capability of filling a variety of entry-level position, such as paramedic, firefighter and ambulance driver.
Pre- Requisites
Candidates applying to attend the Paramedic program
must meet the following requirements:
- Have a minimum of 1-year field experience working as an EMT.
- Provide 3 letters of recommendation, one being from an employer.
- Have taken and successfully passed a college level Anatomy & Physiology or Paramedic Prep-course within the past 3 years. If you are accepted and have not completed the required Anatomy & Physiology course, you will be required to enroll and pass the Paramedic Prep-course provided by Antelope Valley Medical College prior to the scheduled class start date.
- Provide proof of field internship.
- Current BLS card.
